A hotel in the Philippines has set the world record for the largest building shaped like a chicken. The structure stands about 10 storeys tall. It was designed by local Ricardo Cano Gwapo Tan. He chose to construct a huge rooster because he wanted to amaze people. Tan spent six months planning the project, and construction took over a year to complete. When it opened last fall, the hotel immediately nabbed the Guinness record. Now the giant chicken is the centrepiece of a resort that also features swimming pools and hundreds of dinosaur and cartoon statues. Sounds like quite a vacation spot! WATCH OUT FOR WEASELS! A school in Japan thought a thief was on the loose when shoes went missing from a kindergarten class over several days. A few cameras were set up, which solved the mystery. They caught a weasel snatching shoes from cubbies! Some think the animal took the footwear to line its nest. To stop the weasel from making off with more sneakers, the cubbies were covered in netting. While the stolen shoes were never located, no more went missing. As for the weasel, it's still footloose and fancy free, likely relaxing somewhere with its stash of sneakers. Not cool, weasel! A WILD MYSTERY R eady to roll! A company in Vancouver created furniture that transforms into skateboard accessories. All it takes is moving a latch or releasing a pin. Then a desk turns into a ramp. A lamp becomes a rail. Or two chairs morph into a quarter pipe. With that, you can go for a skate whenever the mood strikes! The company created the furniture collection, called Skate Break, using plywood and steel. They designed it to be used in workplaces when people need a break. Feeling bored? Grab your board! THIS ROOSTER RULES! COMING HOME TO ROOST DIY SKATE PARK READY, SET, SKATE! owlkids.com 7
