Raccoons are great at learning new things and can solve complicated problems. Nyima, your friend Petey has one of our tags. We've been documenting raccoon populations in Toronto. there are a lot of raccoons here! Oh no, Petey's fine. There's also a lot in the park for raccoons to eat, like insects, nuts, and fruit. That's great news! I was worried Petey was all alone. Their claws also make grabbing food and other slippery items super easy. "I named him Petey. I have been watching him forage for food in the park at night." "I noticed it had a tag on it's ear!" Thanks to their strong grip, raccoons can climb trees and buildings. 28 OWL May 2025
