"I can do it!" Charlie says.
The next day, Charlie and Mom
play checkers. "That game took
fifteen minutes," Mom says. "And
you sat for the whole game."
"Can we play checkers on the
plane?" Charlie asks.
"Sure!" Mom says. "We can do
lots of things. What else do you like
to do when you're sitting down?"
Charlie lists some things. "I like
playing checkers, drawing, building
blocks, reading, and I like watching
Mighty Mega Monster Trucks."
"And we'll have snacks on the
plane," Mom says.
"I love snacks! But can we ever
stand up?" Charlie asks.
"We can stand up to go to the
bathroom," says Mom.
Charlie thinks he may have to go to
the bathroom a lot during the flight.
On the day of their trip, Charlie,
Mom, and Nate get to the airport
early. There is a lot of standing to do.
Charlie stands in a line to drop off
his suitcase. He stands in another
line to go through security. Then he
stands in a line to get snacks for the
flight. He stands in another line to
board the plane. He's happy when he
finally gets to sit down!
