Cool Crayons Watch crayons go from solid to liquid with Chirp reader Maddy! You'll need: • Baking tray lined with parchment paper or tinfoil • 1 to 3 broken crayons • Oven What to do: 1 Heat the oven to 120°C (250°F). 2 Remove labels from the crayons. Place the crayons on the tray. 3 Put the tray in the oven and watch what happens to the crayons! 4 Carefully remove the tray from the oven and let it cool. How it works Crayons are solid wax. But when crayons are heated up, the wax melts and goes from a solid to a liquid. When the melted crayons cool down, they become solid again!
