Fab Apples
Have you ever noticed the
teensy spots on apples? They're
tiny pores called "lenticels"
(say: LEN-tih-sells) that allow the
fruit to "breathe." Oxygen goes
in, and carbon dioxide gas, water
and heat come out. Pears and
potatoes have lenticels, too.
Wash up for
Clean Hands

September 17
to 23.
Out to Lunch
Hungry? You might want to skip this silly
sandwich! Artist Kristina Lechner made it out of
kitchen sponges, plastic lids and rubber gloves.
