Bioluminescence
(say: bi-oh-loom-ih-NESS-since) is
when a living thing glows. Fireflies
are famous for their glowing bodies.
The human body glows light, too,
but the light is so low that we
can't see it without
special cameras.

Rubber Rules
Before erasers, people used
rolled-up bread to rub away
pencil marks. One day, an
inventor reached for some
bread on his desk, but ended
up with a piece of rubber
instead. The rubber wiped
away the pencil marks.
And the rest is history!
