What we do know is that the human eye can't see every colour out there. Scientists think most people can see about 1 million different colours, but some people can actually see 100 million! Sunlight is made up of all the colours of the rainbow. When sunlight hits the ocean, the water molecules suck in all the other colours except for blue.
