Advertorial
Instead of jumping, snow fleas use their
tails to spring from place to place. If you
could jump as far as a snow flea, you'd
travel about 30 times your body length!
Multiply your height by 30 and measure
out that distance across the snow to see
how far you'd go.

SNOW FLEA is the
nickname for a type
of springtail, a tiny
creature that's not a flea
at all. Amazingly, snow
fleas stay active in the
cold thanks to a kind
of built-in antifreeze
in their bodies.
