LEAFY LANDSCAPES RAKE IT TO MAKE IT Y ou might call this artwork a-maze-ing. A California counsellor uses fallen leaves to create works of art on the grounds of a college campus. Joanna Hedrick works at the college, and every fall, she brings out her rake to design mazes, circles, and suns with the fallen leaves that cover the ground. Hedrick began her rake art about seven years ago to create a cool background for photos she was taking of her kids. But everyone at the college loved the artwork so much that she's made it an annual tradition. Each autumn, she gets busy raking and creates six masterpieces across campus. Just leaf her to it! LIGHTEN UP HAN AND CHEWIE NOT INCLUDED F irst came lightspeed … now comes light! This desk lamp is shaped like one of the most famed spaceships around: the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars. Bright light shines from the back of the so called fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy. And since the lamp has a bendable arm, you can move it around to aim its light wherever you need it. Who knew steering clear of the dark side could be so easy? MAKING A POINT ART BY THE BOWLFUL S erve it up! A Chinese designer named Jiachun LV found a way to turn pencil crayon shavings into works of art. He created a bowl with a pencil sharpener built into the bottom. As you sharpen pencil crayons, their shavings collect inside the bowl. Just like that, you end up with colourful artwork to put on display. That's one sharp-looking masterpiece!
